Business of past meetings
October, 2007
The audit committee report was given, and several recommendations
made, most importantly the status of our certificate of deposit.
Since the meeting, the CD has been found and funds moved to a new
higher interest bearing money market account.
April, 2007 Burial plot committee report
The committee, consisting of Brothers Ray Lewis and Paul Mason,
have completed their task and reported the following guidelines for
assigning grave spaces to be set in place:
-
The President shall have the final say as to the use
of any grave space that has been donated to the Bureau.
-
No grave space will be traded, swapped, bartered or sold.
-
The Secretary will be notified before any grave
space can be assigned.
The grave spaces will be used
for indigent brothers, sojourners without family.
A brothers family will defray all costs of
the funeral.
The Bureau will not be
responsible for opening or closing the grave.
Any deviation as to whom may
be buried is within the Bureaus prerogative to determine who, only
then after the Executive Board approves.
There will be no charge for
the funeral service from the Bureau. However, if the family or
anyone else wishes to make a donation to the bureau on behalf of the
deceased, this will be accepted.
A motion to accept the committees report was made and
seconded and the ensuing vote passed with a majority vote.
Widows pin committee report
Brother Richard Opperman reported that the cost of one dozen Widows
pins to be $75.00 plus shipping. A motion was made and seconded to
accept the committees findings. There was much discussion relating to
awarding a certificate with the pin. The motion was amended and passed
with a majority vote. It is also noted that if a 64th District Lodge
performs their own funerals and Widow's Certificate presentation, the
Bureau will not be involved.
Here's what the pin looks like:
